Thelma is our smart medication dispenser, designed to support clients in taking their medication safely and on time. When it is time to take the medication, Thelma automatically provides a light and sound signal. With a single press of a button, the correct medication pouch is dispensed. Healthcare professionals and informal caregivers can monitor medication moments remotely via the Thelma Portal.

Thelma works with a medication roll from the client’s own pharmacy. Each pouch contains the correct medication for one specific intake moment. This provides clarity for the client and prevents missed doses, accidental double doses, or the use of the wrong pouch. This contributes to predictable and meticulous medication use.

Thelma is linked to the pharmacy that produces the medication roll. Thanks to this integration, Thelma always verifies that it is the correct client and the correct medication pouch. This ensures that the right medication is always dispensed.

Reliable and easy medication intake

The pharmacist has processed the medication into a medication roll. This roll is placed inside Thelma. When it is time for medication, Thelma provides a light and sound signal. With one press of the button, the correct medication pouch is dispensed. The pouch features a pre-made small notch, making it easy to open without the medication falling out. The sensor can detect whether the medication pouch has been taken.

Medication earlier, later, or forgotten?

Is your client going out for the day or arriving home later? In such cases, the medication can easily be dispensed earlier by the client themselves.

If the button is not pressed or the medication is not taken, a light and sound signal follows after 10 and 30 minutes. After 30 minutes, Thelma automatically sends a notification to the linked Alarm Service Provider or via the Nurse Call System (VOS) to the healthcare institution.

The medication roll can be placed directly into Thelma without extra steps. This also applies to large pills or mailbox-sized packaging.

There are 15 alert tones available, and the volume is adjustable.

Fewer roll changes due to the large reservoir for the medication roll (up to 140 pouches).

Integration with Alarm Service Providers or Nurse Call Systems (VOS) for follow-up on missed dispensations.

The Thelma Portal

The Thelma Portal provides an overview of all actions resulting from the use of Thelma. This can help caregivers monitor medication dispensing and intervene timely if necessary.

The portal dashboard shows all medication-related events of active Thelma units within the team, and you can also consult a client’s medication overview, for example. The dashboard further consists of notifications, display of dispensing moments, warnings, and roll changes during the day. A map is also visible showing where events are located within a service area.

Additionally, you can register new clients in the portal, change data, or adjust a client’s care status.

TSC MediSync

For Thelma, we have developed our own integration with packaging pharmacies: TSC MediSync. This solution ensures that data from medication rolls reaches Thelma securely and in a controlled manner. Only the information necessary for correct medication dispensing is used.

Security and privacy are central to this. The solution is designed according to current standards and guidelines for information security in healthcare, including ISO 27001, NEN 7510, and the GDPR.

This allows healthcare organizations to rely on a secure, reliable, and future-proof exchange of medication data.
